We are looking to make an application under the Wexford Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP. To strengthen our application we are looking for ideas from our club members . At the moment preferred projects would be replacing front pitch lights with LEDs and rainwater harvesting.
Five Programme Themes
A project may comprise several of the suggested project types as set out in Themes 1 - 5 below. While these themes provide suggestions for the types of projects which may be funded, applicants are not limited to selecting these project types and are encouraged to explore innovative projects that meet the objective of the programme.
Theme 1: Community Energy - Use Less Energy • Use Renewable Energy • Avoid Heat Loss

- LED Community Lighting,
- Small Renewable Energy Projects (solar / hydro / wind)
- Retrofitting Community Buildings (windows and doors, insulation, heat pumps)
Theme 2: Travel - Contribute towards Emission Reduction
Examples:
- Cycle Ways
- Cycle Parking
- Community Electric Vehicles (e.g. Electric bikes, eCargo bikes)
Theme 3: Food and Waste -• Reduce Food Waste
Examples:
- Community Composting Facilities
- Community Allotments
- Community Fridges
Theme 4: Shopping and Recycling - • Increase Recycling Facilities • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Examples:
- Swap Shops
- Water Filling Stations
- Community Repair Hubs
Theme 5: Local and Environmental Action- • Holistic Approach • Mitigating Measures
Examples:
- Attenuation Ponds
- Mini Forests / Pollinator Projects
- Roof / Community Gardens
