Now that school is back we head into the new rugby season with  our Seniors taking on Dublin University at Alcast Park tomorrow, that kicks off at 3pm. Minis training is back on Sunday and our first Youth's fixtures kicking off with the Colts taking on Wicklow at home tonight at 7.30. Best of luck to all the teams in action over the weekend. Congratulations to our players who got their Leaving Cert results and are moving on to the next stage of life. Hopefully many of you will stay on and play for Enniscorthy as adults.

I want to thank the returning members of the Committee and welcome new members. Annette Guinan joins us as Women's Coordinator, so I'd like to welcome her and to thank Sam Wafer for her enormous contribution over the years. Don't be a stranger Sam!

Well done to the Golf Committee for another excellent Golf Classic. Dougie and the team put an incredible amount of work in to make the day a success, the beautiful weather made it all the better.

It's great to see the new lights on the back pitch, this will be a big improvement for training and matches and marks phase 1 of our site redevelopment. A big thank you to the Subcommittee led by Pat Kelly, and we look forward to hearing what is next. We couldn't have done this without our 300 Club Draw members (congrats to all the winners over the summer) and the Sports Capital Grant. Thanks to Rory and Andrew for all the work they put into securing the grant.

Some of our Committee members have been busy over the summer working on sustainable projects for the Club. More to follow on that over coming weeks.

It takes a huge amount of effort to run a club like ours. Our volunteers have really struggled this year to get coaches and managers for our teams, and we have also struggled to fill important roles like Social Media Manager. Unfortunately it is our young people who will suffer from this as we won't be able to field teams at all age groups. I would really encourage anyone who has time to spare and would like to step forward to please get in touch with me Chairperson@enniscorthyrugby.com. There are always plenty of jobs to be done.

Finally, a big good luck to the Ireland Women's team taking on New Zealand on Sunday. We are holding a watch party in the Club tomorrow for the game from 1.30. There will be lots of activity, food and an opportunity to watch the game. We'd encourage the girls and boys to join us and look forward to seeing plenty of you there.

Annette Soraine,
Chairperson
